Finding Confidence in Uncertain Times

Lets be real for a minute

This isn’t a post about announcing a new job, a promotion, or another achievement. This is me being vulnerable for a minute!

the past couple of weeks, I’ve felt like I’ve been on autopilot. Life has been moving fast with work, volunteering, podcast, social media, events, people, projects… and everything in between.

People often ask me, “How do you manage to do so much?” And honestly? I sometimes get confused by that question. Because on the inside, I often feel like I’m not doing enough.

As an international student, there’s always this feeling that you should be doing more, whether it's building your career, creating opportunities, making connections, studying, contributing to the community, figuring out your future… while also trying to enjoy the life you’re building away from home. Sometimes I look at everything I’m doing and think, “Is this enough?” And when people tell me I inspire them or that they admire how much I do, I’m genuinely grateful!! But I also want to be honest enough to say that I don’t always feel that way about myself.

However, I’ve realised that I thrive on people, conversations, ideas and energy. Being around people gives me energy. Creating something meaningful gives me energy. Being involved in my community gives me energy.

Maybe sometimes we need to pause. Breathe. Recognise how far we’ve actually come and remind ourselves that we don’t always have to be achieving something to be doing enough. So if you’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed or like everyone else has it figured out except you…You’re probably not alone. 🤍 I’m still figuring it out too.
